Let me introduce you to the Community Longing To Be. Despite there being so very many of us, we are often feel alone.

We are the Community Longing To Be, because we are all too aware of our need for each other and for the divine. We prefer to walk together in our woundedness than being alone in a pretense of “wholeness”. We are united by relationship and longing, not achievement or strength.

We are the Community Longing To Be. For us, generosity is a matter of survival, for without each other, many of us would starve- and for more than just food. We try to give what we have to each other, though our fear stirs our selfishness. We offer hospitality, making space in our homes, though we don’t always get along or know who to trust. But we do it because we know the alternative. We know and reject it.

We are the Community Longing To Be. Our “success” is measure by our faithfulness to God, which is measured by our love for one another, for those most in need. We suck the marrow out of life, celebrating with passion, mourning with abandon, and loving with reckless longing. And that love is our revolution.

We are the Community Longing To Be. Each voice and identity and experience is recognized for carrying the ember of the divine. Our strength is in our difference, for we…
